Erin started her nursing career in 2001 after earning her Associates of Science nursing degree from Manatee Community College, followed by her Bachelor’s degree in 2012, and then her Masters of Science in Acute Care Gerontology, both from the University of South Florida in 2015; simultaneously while raising two beautiful daughters.
Her love of cardiothoracic surgery began in 2003 at Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Leesburg, Florida. After relocating to Southwest Florida in 2006, she pursued a career at Manatee Memorial Hospital, working initially in the float pool, then the cardiovascular intensive care unit, first as a nurse, later as a charge nurse. Her role as a clinical leader helped foster a professional relationship w/ the surgeons of Riverview Cardiac Surgery, joining the practice in 2013. Her responsibilities grew after earning her advanced practice degree, including assisting in the development of the Mitra Clip program with Dr. Golino at Manatee Memorial in 2014.
Erin has earned the Critical Care Registered Nurse accreditation, is a member of the American Nurses Association, and board certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She has special interest in heart failure, structural heart, cardiothoracic surgery, and research in new valve technologies.
Today Erin maintains a pivotal role in the structural heart and research departments at both Manatee Memorial and Riverview Cardiac Surgery, specializing in the care of patients with valve and heart disease.
When she is not at the hospital or office taking care of patients, she enjoys spending quality time with her daughters, friends, family, and fur babies.
